The CHECKER® HC mini photometers offer an interesting alternative between simple chemical test kits and compact measuring instruments. The handy photometers combine precision with an affordable price and are very easy to operate thanks to their large LCD and just one button. The automatic switch-off function ensures the longest possible battery life.
The HI782 Checker® HC for Nitrate in Marine Water is a handheld colorimeter that determines nitrate concentration colorimetrically using the Beer-Lambert principle. HI782 is specifically designed to measure high nitrate concentrations in a marine aquarium. The range of 0.0 to 75.00 ppm is suitable for reef aquariums stocked with fish or fish and corals. Nitrate is a byproduct of the nitrogen cycle. Too high a nitrate level in a reef aquarium can promote the growth of undesirable organisms, including algae and dinoflagellates, while insufficient levels can lead to coral bleaching.
