Red Sea's ReefLED ® series is the result of years of research into the light requirements of corals in artificial environments.
Thanks to the unique design with a light intensity and spectrum that is 100% used by the corals, ReefLED lights are 100% reef safe & 100% REEF-SPEC ® and ensure optimal growth, vibrant colors and an elegant, soft glow throughout the aquarium.
At the heart of each unit is a single, compact LED array that includes multi-wavelength 23,000 Kelvin REEF-SPEC Blue (a proprietary blend of blue, violet and ultraviolet LEDs) along with 9,000 Kelvin White and a separate 3W channel for moonlight. This array allows for a wide range of REEF-SPEC light that will delight both you and your corals.
In addition, ReefLED lights contain hollow lenses made of optical glass that ensure homogeneous light distribution with REEF-SPEC PAR values throughout the aquarium, without hotspots or areas of insufficient light for coral growth.
All ReefLED lights come with built-in Wi-Fi, allowing full control via the ReefBeat smart aquarium app (which controls all Red Sea devices). The app includes preset lighting programs as well as additional features such as sunrise/sunset effects, moonlight cycle, random clouds and even an acclimation program for new installations.

- ReefBeat ® app for easy setup, operation, monitoring and notifications
- Glare-free recessed lens

reef-safe PAR distribution
The ReefLED is reef safe as it provides ideal PAR levels throughout the aquarium with no hotspots or areas of insufficient light for coral growth. The PAR distribution graph shows the actual PAR levels, which vary across the cross-section of the aquarium.
ReefLED programs | PAR vs. PUR
Using PAR measurements only to determine the light quality or compatibility of a particular light unit for coral photobiology can be misleading. PAR measurement was developed to measure the photosynthetic active radiation of plants in the visible light range (400 – 700 nm).
The photosynthetic radiation (PUR) relevant for optimal zoox photosynthesis lies between 360 and 480 nm and begins outside the range of visible light (measured with PAR meters) in the UV range and continues in the blue range of visible light.
PUR cannot be measured directly but must be calculated by isolating the PUR wavelength intensity data for each wavelength from the radio spectrometer analysis.
The ReefLED's REEF-SPEC Blue channel is 100% PUR, so the PUR for this channel is actually slightly higher than the measured PAR due to the UV wavelengths that the PAR meter cannot detect.
The ReefLED's 9,000K white has a strong blue peak in the PUR spectrum as well as wavelengths across the entire visible light spectrum, giving it a PUR of 45% of its PAR.
The actual PUR output of the ReefLED depends on the combined settings of the Reef-Spec Blue and White channels.
