Z-PhosPlus

Phosphorus is another extremely important element in microfauna and coral nutrition. When present in sufficient amounts, it promotes “biological filtration” along with improved coral coloration and health.

In order for bacteria and other microscopic organisms to assimilate carbon and nitrogen, phosphorus is needed in adequate amounts.

As filtration systems become more efficient, low and very low nutrient aquariums are becoming more common. These systems are often depleted of phosphorus. When a system is depleted of nutrients, it means that “biological filtration” is not occurring as efficiently as it should, and nutrients such as NO3 are likely to rise and

become pollutants unless other forms of filtration are used.

Z-PhosPlus supports microbial growth and proliferation and improves biological filtration by allowing microscopic plankton and bacteria to consume carbon and nitrogen. These bacteria can then be exported through mechanical filtration or used as food by other organisms in our aquariums, such as sponges, corals, mussels, tunicates, etc.

Z-PhosPlus is a natural PO4 source that can be added to the aquarium in a controlled manner to achieve ideal PO4 levels. We recommend using Z-PhosPlus to achieve PO4 levels of around 0.04 mg/l.

Before dosing Z-PhosPlus, we recommend using reliable and accurate phosphate test kits to determine the phosphate content in the aquarium.

1 ml Z-PhosPlus increases approx. 0.01 ppm PO4 in 100 l of aquarium water.

Once phosphate levels are determined, we recommend increasing only 0.01-0.02 ppm PO4 per day by dosing the required amount and waiting 24 hours to test PO4 levels. This procedure should be repeated until the desired PO4 levels are achieved.

If PO4 is dosed and after 24 hours both NO3 and PO4 levels do not begin to decline, your system may be carbon limited.

Warning: Keep out of reach of children. Not intended for human consumption.

NitroPlus

Nitrate is extremely important for microfauna and coral nutrition. When present in sufficient amounts, it promotes “biological filtration” along with improved coral coloration and health.

In order for bacteria and other microscopic organisms to assimilate carbon and phosphorus, nitrogen is needed in adequate amounts.

As filtration systems become more efficient, low and very low nutrient aquariums are becoming more common. These systems are often nitrogen deficient. When a system is depleted of nutrients, it means that "biological filtration" is not working as efficiently as it should, and nutrients such as PO4 are likely to rise up and become contaminants unless other forms of filtration are employed.

Z-NitroPlus supports microbial growth and proliferation and improves biological filtration by allowing microscopic plankton and bacteria to consume carbon and phosphate. These bacteria can then be exported through mechanical filtration or used as food by other organisms in our aquariums, such as sponges, corals, mussels, tunicates, etc.

Z-NitroPlus is a natural NO3 source that can be added to the aquarium in a controlled manner to achieve ideal NO3 levels. We recommend using Z-NitroPlus if your nitrate levels are below 5 ppm.

Before dosing Z-NitroPlus, we recommend using reliable and accurate nitrate test kits to determine the nitrate content in the aquarium.

10 ml Z-NitroPlus increases ~1 ppm NO3 in 100 l aquarium water.

Once nitrate levels are determined, we recommend increasing only 1-2 ppm NO3 per day by dosing the required amount and waiting 24 hours to test NO3 levels. This procedure should be repeated until the desired NO3 levels are achieved.

Z-CarboPlus

(Nitrate & Phosphate "Remover")

In order for bacteria and other microscopic organisms to assimilate nitrogen and phosphorus, carbon must be available in sufficient quantities.

As filtration systems become more efficient, low and very low nutrient aquariums are becoming more common. These systems are often low carbon. If a system is low carbon, it means that "biological filtration" is not happening as efficiently as it should, and nutrients such as NO3 and PO4 are likely to rise and become contaminants unless other forms of filtration are employed.

Z-CarboPlus increases the rate of microbial growth and proliferation and improves biological filtration by allowing microscopic plankton and bacteria to consume nitrate and phosphate. These bacteria can then be exported by mechanical filtration or used as food by other organisms in our aquariums, such as sponges, corals, mussels, tunicates, etc.

Z-CarboPlus is a natural source of biologically harmless carbon and replaces combustible sources such as ethanol or vodka.

When starting to dose Z-CarboPlus, we recommend starting with 1ml per 100L daily and increasing up to 3ml per 100L daily if necessary. Measure NO3 and PO4 frequently using reliable test kits as over time, if present in the correct ratio (C 106:N 16:P 1), these should decrease to the desired levels and eventually to 0 ppm (if nothing is done).

Once NO3 and PO4 reach recommended levels, reduce the dose to ensure nutrients stay close to these levels and do not drop to 0 ppm (our recommended levels are NO3 ~ 5 ppm and PO4 ~ 0.04 ppm).

If either NO3 or PO4 tends toward 0 ppm while the other is above 0 ppm, your system is likely limited by the depleted nutrient, in such a case the nutrient present will either not decrease or increase over time. Dose Z-NitroPlus or Z-PhosPlus to correct this deficiency and optimize your "biological filtration".

If you want a system that has "heavy nutrients in and heavy nutrients out" you can still dose the maximum daily dose of Z-CarboPlus, but you will likely need to dose Z-NitroPlus and Z-PhosPlus to ensure the correct nutrient ratio/levels.

Z-AminoPlus

Z-AminoPlus is the "food element" of the Reef Zlements method, a complete method that provides macro and trace elements along with "nutrients" and food that your corals need to thrive.

Z-AminoPlus is a specially formulated blend of amino acids, carbohydrates and vitamins that works in synergy with Z-Complete and Reef Zlements' nutrient management line.

Our proprietary recipe is formulated to improve coral growth, coloration and overall coral health. Therefore, reefers who begin using Z-AminoPlus as part of the Reef Zlements method are likely to experience increased consumption of alkalinity, calcium and all other elements. It is therefore important that these parameters are closely controlled.

For better results, Z-AminoPlus should be administered in a high flow area and spread throughout the day. To facilitate use, Z-AminoPlus can be dosed with a dosing pump and does not require refrigeration.

The recommended doses of Z-AminoPlus are as follows for each stocking level:

Light (Soft, LPS & SPS) - 1 ml per 100 l per day

Medium (Soft, LPS & SPS) - 2 ml per 100 l per day

Heavy (Soft, LPS & SPS) - 4 ml per 100 l per day

The dosage recommendation above is the starting point for dosing, and you may feel the need to adjust dosage amounts to suit your reef-specific needs.

While using nutrient management products and Z-AminoPlus, always monitor the visual appearance of your corals, the nitrate and phosphate in the aquarium water.

If you notice a brown or gray biofilm on the live rock or the appearance of algae/cyanobacteria, this is a likely sign that you are overdosing or that your nutrient levels are not optimal.

Before making any adjustments, make sure all nutrient levels are at ideal levels.

VitaPlus

VitaPlus is the “vitality element” of the Reef Zlements method, a complete method that provides macro and trace elements as well as “nutrients” and food that your corals need to thrive.

VitaPlus is a specially formulated vitamin blend containing Vitamin A, B complex, C, K and E, as well as a special ingredient that works in synergy with AminoPlus and Reef Zlements two-part solutions.

Our proprietary formula is designed to improve coral growth, coloration and overall health, so reefers who begin using VitaPlus are likely to see an improvement in coral coloration as well as health and growth.

The dosages recommended by VitaPlus are as follows for each stocking level:

Light (Soft, LPS & SPS) – 1–2 ml per 100 l per day

Medium (Soft, LPS & SPS) – 2–3 ml per 100 l per day

Heavy (Soft, LPS & SPS) – 3–6 ml per 100 l per day

The dosage recommendation above is the maintenance dose and you may feel the need to adjust the dosage to meet the specific needs of your reef depending on your nutrient levels.

We recommend always starting with a lower dose for the first 2-3 weeks to ensure that nutrient levels remain at ideal levels.

While using the nutrient management products and VitaPlus, always monitor the visual appearance of your corals as well as the nitrate and phosphate levels in the aquarium water.

If you notice a brown or gray biofilm on the live rock or the appearance of algae/cyanobacteria, this is a likely sign that you are taking an overdose.
